The General Secretariat of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants (UPOV) announces the inclusion of the Master's Degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies (MPINT) of the Universidad Austral at the International Certificate of Plant Variety Protection as dictated by that intergovernmental body. In turn, experts who complete the MPINT will be awarded 10 credits in the aforementioned certification program based on the content of the 40-hour course, Intellectual Property in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology. Additionally, UPOV will offer distance learning to MPINT Master's participants, free of charge.
The news takes on special relevance in the development of the educational project of the Intellectual Property Center #CPI, as stated by Miguel Rapela, academic director of the MPINT: "We have maintained an academic and cooperative relationship with UPOV for decades, and this synergy reaffirms our commitment to the internationalization of our academic proposal."
