Thanks to a joint initiative of Marshall T. Meyer Latin American Rabbinical Seminary and the Hungarian Rectors' ConferenceA delegation of university rectors from that country was received at the Pilar Campus of the Universidad Austral.
The visit, framed within a program to promote International Academic Cooperation, had as its main objective to strengthen academic and scientific ties between institutions in Argentina and Hungary.
The delegation was received by the Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, Lourdes Perea; the Vice-Rector for Research, Domingo Tarzia; the Secretary General, Luis García Ghezzi; the Director of the Institutional Reputation Unit, Julio Durand; and the Head of Institutional Relations, Inés Laferrère. Also present were Esteban Pittaro, from the Faculty of Communication; Federico Menéndez and Pilar Quiñoa Nuevo, from the Faculty of Law; and Carolina Dams, Dean of the IAE Business School.
As for the representatives from Hungary, those present included Dr. Balázs Heidrich, Rector of Budapest Business University; Dr. László Borhy, Rector of Eötvös Loránd University and President of the Hungarian Rectors' Conference; Dr. István Erős, Rector of the Hungarian University of Fine Arts; Dr. Tamás Sterbenz, Rector of the Hungarian University of Sports Science; Dr. Zoltán Dubéczi, Secretary General of the Hungarian Rectors' Conference; and Fanni Perjés, from the international office of the Hungarian Rectors' Conference. Also accompanying them were Rabbi Ariel Stofenmacher, Rector of the Seminary, and Guillermo Heisinger, Head of Institutional Relations at the Seminary.
The rectors participated in a talk, followed by a tour of the facilities of the Universidad Austral in the company of Professor María José Murcia, who also shared the projects of the Center for Studies in Sustainability and Social Innovation.
At the same time, the Hungarian rectors held parallel meetings with the IAE Business School, the Faculty of Law and the Faculty of Communication, thus consolidating opportunities for collaboration in various academic areas.
On the other hand, the Hungarian delegation participated in a university fair organized at the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education of the Nation, the CIN (National Interuniversity Council) and CRUP (Council of Rectors of Private UniversitiesThis space allowed for a meeting with the International Relations area and the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Universidad Austral, promoting a fruitful exchange between the institutions present.
