The Institute of Philosophy of the Universidad Austral Calls for applications for 10 scholarships to participate in the seminar “Big Questions. From Science to Philosophy and Theology”, which will take place in Buenos Aires on October 16 and 17, 2014 and will be taught by Argentine scientists and professors from the Faraday Institute of the University of Cambridge.

Ten scholarships will be awarded, covering bus fare and two nights' accommodation in front of the campus of the Universidad AustralThose interested should send the following documentation to the email address filosofia@austral.edu.ar before September 26, 2014:

• letter of intent;
•  full curriculum vitae;
• current academic affiliation;
• Names of two reference people.

The decision will be announced on September 30.

Advanced undergraduate students, doctoral students, recent PhD graduates, and academics in science, philosophy, or theology who demonstrate a clear interest in interdisciplinary research involving science and philosophy or theology are eligible to apply for the scholarship. Advanced English proficiency is required, as simultaneous translation will not be provided for presentations in English.

The selection of candidates will be made according to:

1. The applicant's academic background (publications, teaching, participation in academic meetings) and
2. The demonstrable interest in interdisciplinary research.

Fellows will be required to submit a written report of 600-1000 words on one of the topics covered in the Seminar. The report must be submitted before November 30, 2014.
