As the University celebrated its 25th anniversary, Proidl also said that she “was very impressed by the institution, its creative and positive environment.” She added that the campus reminded her of “Austrian universities, like the one in Vienna, for example.”

Also, on her first visit to Universidad Austral’s Campus, the ambassador pointed to the School of Engineering’s Transfer Plaza Labs, “where Universidad Austral has worked with European companies.”

“I would like to congratulate all the people involved here on their work and because they have managed to build a top quality university,” remarked Dr. Proidl.

Additionally, the diplomat said that she had talked to faculty members and noticed that “there is a keen interest on collaborating.” She also announced, “After this very positive visit, we are going to continue on this path to build ties between Austria and Universidad Austral”.

Regarding her position in Argentina, she noted, “I arrived in August 2013, so I have been Austria’s ambassador here for nearly three years, as well as in Uruguay and Paraguay.”

“I love the people here, their openness and warmth. I have travelled across the country to visit many provinces. For Austrians, who love nature, Argentina boasts an enormous wealth,” she concluded.

Universidad Austral ranks among the world’s top universities under 50 and Latin America’s most renowned universities at the QS World University Rankings.
