Universidad Austral ranks once again among the world’s top 350 higher education institutions at the 2015/16 Quacquarelli Symonds international ranking, which assessed 891 universities from a total of 3,539 institutions surveyed.
The university also consolidates its global standing among Latin America’s top ten universities, ranking first in the region’s “Student-Faculty” ratio category –that is, the number of students per faculty member. Among the Latin America’s top ten, Universidad Austral is the only “small” institution and one of the only two below 50 years old.
This year’s QS World University Rankings, a chart prepared independently and approved by the IREG Observatory on Academic Ranking and Excellence, was based on 121,000 answers to several surveys, which makes this the ranking with the greatest global scope.
Universidad Austral also showed improvements in its reputation among employers, published papers, and the number of cited works per faculty member, as well as increases in the number of international professors and students.
Additionally, at the 2014 “QS Top 50 under 50”, a ranking of the world’s universities below 50 years old, Universidad Austral ranks 36th.
Thus, Universidad Austral consolidates and grows as a leading international university, strengthening its commitment to excellence in academic research and education, paving the way for its students to hold intellectual, professional, social and public leadership positions.
Universidad Austral’s continued outstanding performance in world rankings proves its determination to join and excel in the academic world, complying with objective evaluations while understanding rankings’ limitations to quantitatively summarize schools’ true value.
