Artificial intelligence is already transforming how audiovisual content is conceived, produced, distributed, and monetized. But the challenge isn't just learning about new tools; it's understanding how to integrate them with creative, productive, and strategic thinking.

In this open class of the Universidad Austral We will explore how AI impacts production workflows, the creation of audiovisual pieces, user experience, algorithmic curation, intellectual property, and new business models in the sector.

How is artificial intelligence transforming the processes of audiovisual creation, production, and distribution? What new opportunities and risks does it open up for the sector's business models?

Agustín Lasso, Content Development Senior Producer at The Walt Disney Company and Director of the AI ​​and Audiovisual Program of Universidad AustralTogether with Carolina Bertoni, Director of the Master's Program in Content Management at the same university, they will share their perspective on these challenges from the practical experience of the industry and academic research.

At the end of the meeting, they will give a brief 10-minute presentation on the AI ​​+ Audiovisual Production and AI + Audiovisual Business executive programs , to be held between September and November 2026.

With over a decade of experience at The Walt Disney Company in Latin America, he researches the impact of generative artificial intelligence on audiovisual production and the construction of complex narratives. He is a professor in the Master's Program in Content Management at the Universidad Austral and at the University of Montevideo, co-author of the newsletter Clapperboard, IA! and author of the report Echoes of the future, published by the Media Management Lab of the Universidad Austral.

Carolina Bertoni

Director of the Master's Program in Content Management, Universidad Austral

Master's degree in Content Management from the Universidad AustralWith postgraduate specializations in Strategic Marketing (Wharton) and Artificial Intelligence (MIT), she has over two decades of experience in marketing, digital business, and media, including her time at Google and YouTube (2007–2019) as Content Partnerships Manager for YouTube in South America and Mobile and Social Media Specialist for Google Latin America. She teaches Media Convergence at the School of Communication and is a researcher at the Media Management Lab. Universidad Austral, where he studies the impact of artificial intelligence on media business models.
