Economic and Financial Monitor
This platform is dedicated to bringing the academic community, businesses, and the general public closer to the analysis of metrics, indicators, and monitors on the Argentine economic situation. It compiles reports prepared by professors and researchers from the Faculty, in collaboration with external specialists and consultants, with the aim of providing rigorous, up-to-date, and open-access information that contributes to public debate and decision-making.
Reports
The following are the reports developed by the center.
Objectives and lines of research
To conduct analyses and research on tax policies in Argentina (at its three levels of government and in the consolidated) with the purpose of providing information to the population and, especially, to those who make decisions on the matter in both the private and public sectors, about their economic and social implications.
- Develop research activities to evaluate the characteristics of tax regimes and their impact on the economic and social system.
- To develop proposals for tax reforms that contribute to economic growth, increased investment and employment, poverty reduction, and a more equitable distribution of income.
- To serve as an incubator for research projects within the FCE-Pilar campus, bringing together the efforts of professors and students involved in the analysis of tax issues to generate academic publications.
Credit and Delinquency Report
These reports, prepared in collaboration with the consulting firm EcoGo, allow for monthly monitoring of personal loans in Argentina and their portfolio quality. The central question guiding the work is how household financing is evolving in each jurisdiction and to what extent that credit is being repaid on time and in full, distinguishing between the financial system and non-financial credit providers (NFCPs).
The report is based on data from the Central Bank of Argentina's Debtors Registry, the National Institute of Statistics and Censuses (INDEC), and the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).
