Recently, Brazil has taken the lead in grain production, surpassing the US as the world's largest corn exporter, and plans to do the same in cotton production. Projections from US agricultural authorities suggest this trend will continue into next year, a period in which Brazil could harvest close to 10% of the world's corn and 40% of its soybeans.
