Institutional Development

Why do we need your help?

La Universidad Austral It is a non-profit civil association. Through the Department of Institutional Development, the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences aims to contribute to the generation of resources that will allow it to carry out its projects and grow.

NURSING SCHOLARSHIP FUND

In our country, nursing is a heterogeneous professional group with diverse expectations and opinions regarding its roles, responsibilities, and fields of action.

This group is made up of people with very diverse backgrounds: Nursing graduates, of academic degree; university or professional nurses with 3 years of studies, trained in University and non-University Higher Education Institutions; and the nursing assistants who only have one year of studies after primary education.

This reflects the wide range of nursing training options available, which in most cases are offered free of charge, with a non-university level of training.

Nurses occupy a key role in the health system, providing comprehensive care to people in the community, hospital, outpatient, and home settings.

Faced with this diverse and critical reality, it is vital to train professional nurses with a critical awareness that enables them to respond responsibly to the healthcare demands of today's world. This is the challenge taken on by the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences.

OBJECTIVES

  • Promote the value of nursing education as a determining factor in the health system and its immediate employment placement.

  • Promote the training of nursing professionals, helping to improve opportunities for young people who lack the financial means to pursue a career.

BENEFICIARIES

  • Young people who wish to train as nurses but do not have the necessary financial means to pay for their studies in the Universidad Austral.

ACTIVITIES

  • To train more professionals, a Nursing Scholarship program is proposed for undergraduate programs.

  • This program provides for a variable percentage reduction in the tuition fee (from 30% to 50%) during the course of study, based on the criteria set out below.

APPLICANTS

  • Students who have graduated from public or private secondary schools in the country and demonstrate financial need.

  • Advanced students of the program who demonstrate financial need and have a general average equal to or greater than 6.

Translational Medicine research has become a new paradigm and challenge, aiming to bridge the gap between basic and clinical research.

Over the past decade, multiple academic centers, foundations, governments, organizations, and health systems have prioritized Translational Medicine, which is also used as a guide for health decision-making.

The Academic Health Center of the Universidad AustralThe complex, comprised of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, the Austral University Hospital, and the Health Plan, provides an ideal location for the Institute's operations. Research is considered central to both the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences and the Austral University Hospital, and the interrelationship between its constituent parts is even more important.
