Marine biodiversity and intellectual property: a new book explores how the country can sustainably transform biological capital into innovation

Argentina possesses exceptional marine biodiversity, with ecosystems ranging from sub-Antarctic regions to temperate zones, including a vast continental shelf. However, compared to countries like Norway, Japan, South Korea, or the United States, where numerous developments related to marine compounds are already protected by patents, a significant number of national patents on resources originating from the Argentine Sea have not yet been established.
