Director of Research at the Ian Ramsey Centre for Science and Religion, Faculty of Theology and Religion, University of Oxford. Since 2009, he has been the principal investigator of over $6 million in research grants involving scholars in more than a dozen countries.

Formerly a particle physicist at the DELPHI experiment at CERN, Dr. Pinsent holds degrees in philosophy and theology, and a second PhD in philosophy. A major focus of his research is the second-person (I-Thou) relationship in science, philosophy, and theology. His publications include works on virtue ethics, neurotheology, science and religion, philosophy of person, divine action, and the nature of evil.
