Our country, as a member of Mercosur, has resumed dialogue with EFTA, whose acronym stands for “European Free Trade Association.” Its member countries are Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, and Liechtenstein. The goal is to move forward with the signing of a Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which has been stalled for several years. While there is a vast difference in the economies of the two blocs, there is no doubt that EFTA, with its 14 million inhabitants, has significant comparative advantages that could be combined and strengthened with ours for the benefit of both blocs.
