The Graduate and Professional Development Department of the Universidad Austral It held a new edition of its Job Fair, one of the most important cross-cutting events of the year, which brings students and young graduates closer to the world of work and generates opportunities to connect with organizations from different sectors.
Throughout the day, hundreds of students from all majors visited the booths of more than 50 companies and organizations. They were able to inquire about internship programs, current job openings, and career paths. One of the goals was for students to overcome their fear of presenting themselves, interact with recruiters and human resources professionals, ask questions, and explore possible career paths.
There were other activities aimed at providing tools for job placement: the Human Resources Department, together with Graduates and Professional Development, provided advice on improving CVs, tips to enhance LinkedIn profiles, and the opportunity to take a professional photo with the help of AI. There was also an assessment center coordinated by Direcciona, with the participation of some companies present, and talks aimed at the professional development of political scientists, international relations specialists, family counselors, and educators, with the participation of leading figures in those fields.
In addition, 15 graduates returned to Austral University, this time representing the organizations where they work. Their presence bridged the gap between university experience and professional practice, allowing them to share lessons learned, challenges, and advice with those currently pursuing their academic training.
The Fair also reaffirmed the University's commitment to the holistic development of its students. Beyond specific job opportunities, the event sought to foster curiosity, entrepreneurship, a dedication to service, and the development of professional projects with a positive impact on society.
“The Job Fair is now a classic at the University, and we are very proud to witness its growth and consolidation. This year, organizations from all industries joined us, and many students were able to take advantage of this opportunity,” said María Manson, Director of the Department of Graduates and Professional Development. “We also greatly value the support of our graduates, who, from a different perspective, were able to encourage and inspire the students,” she added.
The participating organizations highlighted the interest, preparation, and commitment of the students who visited the stands, as well as the quality of the exchanges generated throughout the day.
From the Directorate of Graduates and Professional Development we seek to strengthen the links between students, graduates and employer brands and support our young people - future graduates - in building their professional future.
