In recent months, the Argentine scientific community has faced significant challenges that threaten the stability and continuity of a system that has taken decades to build. Budget cuts, the suspension of grant applications, and a lack of resources to continue ongoing research are severely impacting the sector's ability to generate key advances in areas such as health, energy, the environment, and technology. According to a recent report by the Budget and Science Studies Group, between November 2023 and March 2025, the salaries of scientific personnel experienced a 34% loss in purchasing power, jeopardizing the continued employment of many professionals within the system.
