The Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Austral This month, the university celebrated two deeply significant ceremonies: undergraduate and graduate graduations. Two events, but one shared feeling: the emotion of closing a chapter that demands effort, perseverance, and an enormous personal and professional commitment.

The central hall of the Universidad Austral The ceremony was filled with families, friends, professors, and colleagues who had accompanied the graduates throughout their years of study. The orange color that characterizes the Faculty of Engineering imbued both ceremonies with celebration and joy. The Rector of the University presided over the events. Universidad AustralMag. Julián Rodríguez Priore, and the dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Eng. Emilio López-Gabeiras.

Amid hugs, photos, and proud glances, it became clear that this was not just another day: it was a day that —as expressed by the dean of the FI— “They will remember it for the rest of their lives”.

During his speech, Emilio encouraged the new graduates to “Don’t just watch life from the sidelines: go out into the countryside, take risks, and get involved.” And I add: “Make it worthwhile.” For his part, the university rector also encouraged them to "May every innovation they promote contribute to a fairer, more peaceful, and happier world."

The gratification of a shared achievement

In both graduations, a central idea resonated and was repeated by those who gave speeches in front of an audience drenched in emotion. They all agreed on one certainty: no title is obtained alone.

During the undergraduate graduation ceremony, Mateo Rabaglino, graduate of Industrial Engineering, God A speech filled with humor and reminiscence. He recalled that “For better or for worse, This place ended up becoming a second home.”, alluding to the gratitude to authorities, teachers, staff and colleagues for being part of the journey.

For its part, Diego Castro, MSc in Data Mining and Knowledge Management, He shared with the attendees: “The effort is not only academic, but comprehensive… and many of those who are here sacrificed time, accompanied, and supported.” Her words resonated with all those who had experienced studying while working, raising children, and juggling multiple responsibilities. The achievement of this degree belongs as much to the graduates as to the families who supported them throughout the process.

Sailing out to sea: the beginning of a new journey

These celebrations mark a new beginning for all our graduates, both for those starting their professional journey and for those who choose to continue their education to contribute their knowledge and skills to their work environments. One of the graduates expressed it this way: “The ship is safe in the harbor… but it wasn’t made to stay there. Duc in altum. Sail out to sea.”

With their new degrees, knowledge, and—above all—the personal transformation each of them has experienced, the graduates now begin a new chapter. A chapter that invites them to build, lead, discern, and contribute to the world with responsibility, creativity, and humanity.

From the Faculty of Engineering, we celebrate your effort, your growth, and your commitment. And we say to you, with pride and deepest gratitude: Congratulations, engineers, specialists, and master's degree holders! Welcome to the Austral Graduates community.
