On Tuesday, September 17, the VII pre-congress on interpersonal relations “Disability: from inclusion to coexistence”, in the auditorium of the Olivo building on the Pilar campus.

With the participation of both in-person and virtual attendees, the opening ceremony took place with remarks from Dr. Juan Bautista Etcheverry, Vice-Rector for Research of the Universidad Austral, and of the Dr. Lorena Bolzon, dean of the Institute of Family Sciences.

Then, at the opening conference, the Dr. Christian PlebstThe director of the Conscious Teaching Academy for Spain and Latin America, expressed that “it is unconditional love that allows us to evolve as individuals and as a society. My identity may be my characteristics, it may be my roles, but my identity is life. I am because I exist, and I validate that all the time, not by achieving something external.”

Next, the first panel discussion took place, which addressed the following topics: “Work and society” in charge of Marta Mendia, Esq., Ms. Verónica Prado and the Mr. Pablo Poza.

The second panel focused on the theme “Public policies” developed by the Deputy Daniel Arroyo and Ms. María José Adrogué.

To conclude the meeting, the Dr. Dolores DimierThe academic secretary of the Institute of Family Sciences gave a few words of farewell and invited those present to participate in the presentation of papers on the topic that followed.

The papers approved by the evaluation committee focused on the following topics:

• Specific learning difficulties: Breaking down barriers in higher education, the case of dyslexia.
• Contributions to the approach to mental health in people with intellectual disabilities from a primary care center
• Knowledge about disability among students at a public university
• Experience of Labor Inclusion of People with Disabilities in a Public Sector

• Report on 20 years of experience at a rehabilitation center in Argentina. Functional outcomes in people with traumatic brain injury.
• Inclusion and coexistence in public policies
• The importance of assertive communication in healthcare. The fundamental role of the family as a caregiver for the hospitalized patient.
• Inclusion of children with special needs in the childcare center: a guidance guide on health aspects
• A voice that must be heard.
• Problems, Challenges, and Proposals in the Judicial Processes of Appointing Support Persons and Safeguards for People with Disabilities: A Qualitative Study of Judges of the Superior Court of Justice of Arequipa-Peru
• Perceptions and experiences regarding the social and labor inclusion of people with disabilities living on the streets. A case study
• Social inclusion program for members of the public force with disabilities: Contributions to the Sustainable Development Goals and social inclusion in Colombia.
