Continuing education sessions in conjunction with the Pan-American University of Mexico

The Graduate School of Communication of the Universidad Austral carried out the update sessions Communication Problems in LATAM, an initiative that brought together authorities, students and teachers along with the University panameric From Mexico. How do we address the main communication challenges in the region? What trends are shaping politics, the media, and public discourse? These were some of the questions raised.

The opening remarks were delivered by the dean of the Faculty of Communication, Marcela Pizarro, and from the director of the EPC, Arturo Fitz HerbertThey highlighted the value of academic exchange and the building of regional networks. “The goal is to create a community of postgraduate students and graduates in Latin America,” Arturo noted.

An agenda focused on the challenges of the region

For five days, the proposal combined classes, workshops, and collaborative workspaces in a format that promoted active participation among students and teachers from both institutions.

The agenda addressed topics such as trends in public discourse, political communication, public affairs, the relationship between communication and management, and the challenges of journalism in Latin America. Faculty members participated. Damian Fernandez Pedemonte, Bernardo Flores Heymann (visiting professor), Luciano H. Elizalde, Fernanda Vidal (visiting professor), Majo Müller, Ethel Pis Diez, Mario Riorda y Fernando Javier Ruiz.

It was a great exchange experience that strengthens the development of a regional perspective on communication. “Hopefully, this will be the first of many meetings,” students and professors expressed at the close of the event.
