The director of the Design program was appointed a member of the National Academy of Fine Arts

María Sánchez, director of the Design program, was appointed as a member of the National Academy of Fine Arts (ANBA), an entity that seeks to “contribute to the development of fine arts in all its branches,” conduct research, promote bills, and more.formulate cultural action plansamong other purposes. There it will occupy seat number 11, “Antonio Santamarina”, which will take effect on October 12. 

An industrial designer, María developed her professional and academic career in the corporate, government, and educational sectors. She specialized in strategic design and product development. Throughout her career, she promoted and was a member of various international design groups, such as O2 International (the world's first eco-design group) in Milan, the Metropolitan Design Center in Buenos Aires, and the Memphis Group in Milan, among others. He also served as director of the National Arts Fund.

In Universidad AustralShe worked on the creation of the Bachelor's Degree in Design at the Faculty of Communication, where she has served as director since 2019, and teaches Strategic Design courses. She also chairs the International Advisory Council of the Faculty of Architecture and Design at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (Monterrey, Mexico).
