On Friday, November 17th, at the IAE The third Research Master Class of the Business School took place Universidad Austral in which Dr. Ricardo Crespo shared his years of experience in the field of research in the philosophy of economics.

To begin, the rector of the Universidad AustralJulián Rodríguez highlighted the relevance of the Master Class and emphasized its purpose of recognizing research and researchers within the institution, a task promoted by the Vice-Rectorate for Research, headed by Dr. Domingo Tarzia.
Before beginning his presentation, Ricardo Crespo received a diploma in recognition of his work and gave a brief overview of his professional career. At the start of the class, Crespo stated that a question constantly arose in his mind: What is the nature of economics? This question shaped her academic journey, which began with undergraduate studies in Economics and Philosophy, culminating in theses on fundamental topics. She later earned a doctorate in Philosophy and, a few years later, a doctorate in Economics.
Alongside his doctoral studies, he developed his teaching work, which culminated in the inauguration of a chair of Philosophy of Economics at the National University of Cuyo, where he was a full professor for more than 20 years.
Crespo stated: “I have discovered that philosophy is the beacon that illuminates all realities and sciences” and concluded that “Argentina is a privileged place for the development of science, despite the shortcomings that we researchers sometimes suffer.”

This is a tradition that began in 2021 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Universidad AustralIt is a recognition that is part of an award, which seeks to make visible and highlight the work of teacher-researchers who, in addition to fulfilling their teaching, management and advisory functions with excellence, make remarkable efforts in the field of scientific research.
According to the established regulations, the award winner receives an official diploma of recognition from the University, as well as partial funding for the development of their research project, supporting their continued commitment to the generation of knowledge.
