The Standing Committee of the Higher Council thanks Gabriel Sánchez Zinny for his years of dedication as President of the Board of Directors of ACES for the Universidad AustralWith the end of his term, his role will be assumed by Juan Cianciardo, who has been serving as Vice President. Throughout his tenure, Gabriel dedicated his time, knowledge, and effort with a deep commitment to the University's mission.
Last Tuesday, the first meeting of the year for the Governing Board was held. Afterward, members of the Health Sciences Board of Directors joined the meeting, and Rector Julián Rodríguez invited Gabriel Sánchez Zinny to share a few words of farewell. In his remarks, he highlighted the growth and consolidation of the Board of Directors in recent years, within a challenging context for education in our country.
"You are scientists and, at the same time, great educators. The future outlook is very positive. The challenges ahead are very important, but I believe the University is very solid and the results are very good. There are very capable and highly motivated people, a commitment, a sense of dignity, of independence—a vision that seems to me to be unwavering and enduring."

For his part, Juan Cianciardo, who has accompanied Gabriel during his tenure as Vice President, highlighted his leadership and generous contribution to the growth of the University:
"Gabriel has dedicated 45 years of work to the project, which was later called Universidad AustralIn a completely selfless way: giving his time, foregoing professional opportunities, contributing resources, and recruiting people to join the cause. One might ask: What is the purpose of this effort? And I know the answer lies in the Christian inspiration of the University. Gabriel finds meaning in establishing these principles, in transmitting them, and in shaping people. For him, the mission of the University is part of his legacy, a work of evangelization.
