Compliance with anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing (AML/CFT) regulations presents a significant operational and legal challenge for economic and tax advisory firms. With the aim of providing the sector with cutting-edge methodological and technical tools, the Faculty of Business Sciences of the Universidad Austral coordinated a specialized training day together with the Chamber of Professional, Economic, Accounting and Tax Studies (CEPET).
The meeting brought together partners, directors and professionals from various accounting firms and consulting firms, a key area where graduates of the Public Accountant career carry out their daily practice.
The day was led by the teaching staff and graduates of the Public Accountant program at Austral University, representatives of the Conlaft platform , an innovation and technology-based project born in the university's classrooms.
During the session, the main regulatory requirements that apply to professional studies were addressed:
The role of the accounting firm as an obligated entity: Identification of covered operations, reporting duties and delimitation of professional responsibilities.
Management systems and risk matrices: Criteria for applying the Risk-Based Approach (RBA) to the portfolio of clients of economic and tax studies.
Prevention and due diligence policies: Methods to implement continuous due diligence processes without altering the usual operational dynamics of firms.
Automation and compliance with the UIF: The incorporation of digital tools to expedite the preparation of technical reports and mitigate sanctioning contingencies.
This activity reinforces the commitment of the Universidad Austral with the two-way university extension: bringing concrete solutions to the professional studies that lead the market and, at the same time, enriching academic training with the real practical dilemmas that graduates face in the exercise of their profession.
