“Knowledge opens doors, but soft skills are what allow you to stay, grow, and develop.”
That idea was the one that resonated yesterday, during the Soft Skills talk, which was led by Constanza de Elizalde and María José Rosetti, from de Elizalde Talent Development, who opened this meeting by inviting us to reflect on what our #softskills are and how we should communicate them in a job interview to differentiate ourselves.
Furthermore, they reaffirmed something that is now central to the professional sphere: skills such as empathy, active listening, critical thinking, frustration tolerance, leadership, and decision-making are also developed outside of work and the classroom. How? By playing sports, engaging in artistic activities, and participating in social action or volunteer work.
In the second part of the meeting, Constanza and María José moderated a panel made up of María M. Lagos, Martin Jersonsky and Casandra Giuliano, who shared their experiences and added valuable contributions on topics related to team management, talent development, the characteristics of a good leader and the challenges that arise when working with diverse profiles and generations.
The graduates and postgraduate students who attended both in person and virtually participated enthusiastically and shared questions and concerns that enriched the meeting.
From the Graduate and Professional Development Department, we celebrate the opportunity to create these spaces for reflection and growth, which address fundamental issues for current professional and human development.
