QS Ranking By Subject 2026: New Recognition for the Universidad Austral

La Universidad Austral It reaffirms its academic positioning in the new edition of the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026, and consolidates itself once again as the leading privately managed university in the most disciplines in Argentina.

In this edition, the university ranks number one among private institutions in Law, Medicine, Business and Management, and Philosophy, confirming a sustained trajectory of growth and academic consolidation. Law and Medicine have achieved eight consecutive years of leadership, Business and Management has reached five years, while Philosophy has solidified its position for the third consecutive year.

Business and Management: a distinctive leap in the region

One of the most outstanding facts of this edition is the performance in Business and Management, where our university not only consolidates its leadership among the private universities of the country, but also surpasses the University of Buenos Aires and positions itself within the top ten of Latin America in this discipline, placing 131st globally.

This progress is based on a distinctive academic model that integrates the IAE Business School and Faculties of Business Sciences at their Pilar and campuses Rosario, along with a proposal that incorporates the strategic vision in agribusiness from the headquarters of Rosarioconsolidating a training focused on management, decision-making and the development of leaders in complex contexts.

In the same line, María Laura Rodríguez de Sanctis, dean of the headquarters RosarioHe adds: “This recognition also expresses the value of an education that is close and connected to the region's productive network, which allows our students to develop professionally from the beginning and generate an impact on their environment.”.

Finally, Carolina Dams, dean of IAE Business School He stated: “This recognition in QS by Subject in Business & Management Studies reflects the consistency of an academic project sustained over time. In the IAE We work to train leaders capable of integrating technology, judgment and responsibility, in a context where artificial intelligence is redefining value creation and the world of work.”

Academic trajectory and consolidation

In Law, the discipline ranks in the 101–150 range globally, reflecting sustained leadership over eight years based on a solid academic and professional reputation, the production of relevant legal knowledge, and the training of graduates who have an impact on various areas of the legal system, both nationally and internationally. The Faculty is positioned as a key player in the development of legal thought and the improvement of institutions.

In Medicine, ranked globally in the 701–850 range, the university's continued recognition stems from an educational model that combines scientific rigor, practical training, and a humanistic approach, with a strong link between teaching, research, and patient care. The collaboration between the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences, the Austral University Hospital, and the Institute for Translational Medicine Research enables comprehensive training geared toward the current challenges of the healthcare system.

“This year’s results challenge us to continue strengthening our scientific output and its international visibility. At the same time, they reflect a solid foundation in terms of reputation and global collaboration networks, key aspects for the development of quality medicine. Our faculty continues working to consolidate higher-impact research, in conjunction with our educational program and our commitment to the healthcare system.””, he emphasizes Dr. Guillermo Mazzolini, Dean of the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences.

For its part, Philosophy, ranked 151–200 globally, has consolidated its growth for the third consecutive year, driven by the development of interdisciplinary research, dialogue with other fields of knowledge, and the international reach of its research. This progress reflects the University's commitment to strengthening critical thinking and its contribution to major contemporary debates.
