In a context marked by constant transformation, thinking about the future of work has ceased to be a theoretical exercise and has become a concrete necessity. Under this premise, the department of Graduates and Professional Development of the Universidad Austral She invited Patricia Jebsen, a leading figure in the field, to a meeting with students, teachers, and graduates.
The talk emphasized the active role of each individual in navigating their career path, based on the premise that professional development can no longer be viewed as a linear journey. Today, jobs are constantly being redefined, and the capacity for continuous learning is essential to maintaining employability over time.
In this scenario, so-called soft skills have become a key differentiator. Knowing how to communicate, being empathetic, working in a team, adapting to different situations, being resilient, and having leadership skills are competencies that are both necessary and sought after by organizations today.
Jebsen spoke about attitude:
“Go out and find opportunities.” “Be memorable, ask for feedback in interviews and at work, and don’t be afraid to apply even if you don’t meet 100% of the requirements.”
With these words, he sought to motivate and make it clear that feeling uncomfortable and making mistakes is also part of learning and helps to build a professional path.
From the Graduate and Professional Development Area, we seek to open these spaces in order to bring our university community closer to conversations that generate questions and leave ideas and concerns because we believe that in this way we can accompany and encourage the development of sustainable professional careers.
