The Komar Collection, which has approximately 3200 titles including books and magazines on modern philosophy, ethics, history, theology and classical languages, was inaugurated in the Library of the Olivo Building.

The event was attended by relatives of Dr. Emilio Komar, members of the foundation, and authorities from the Universidad Austral.

Emilio Komar's library is a testament to more than 50 years dedicated to the serious, profound and contemplative study of the unchanging truth, in dialogue with authors from the most diverse historical periods.

Dr. Emilio Komar was born in Ljubljana, Slovenia, on June 4, 1921. He received a classical secondary education and earned a doctorate in law from the University of Turin. Exiled from his country during the communist regime, he resided in Argentina from 1947. There, he carried out extensive research and teaching at various institutions. His teaching was characterized by a vital and guiding theoretical contribution to Christian philosophy, which sparked a passion for knowledge in numerous generations.

In 1992 he received the pontifical distinction of Commander of the Order of St. Gregory the Great. His work is currently valued and disseminated in Slovenia as well. He died in San Isidro in 2006, and after his death, the foundation that bears his name was established.
