On Thursday 31 of October, the Universidad Austral He received a visit from the Ambassador of Brazil, Julio Glinternick Bitelli, accompanied by the Education Counselor, Fernando Zelner, in a day of exchange and dialogue on strategic issues for the Argentine-Brazilian relationship.
The visit included a meeting with representatives from the university's School of Government: Manuel Abella Nazar, Matías Lemos, Camila Cereghetti Carvalho, Celina Cantú, Ignacio de Casas, and Said Chaya. During coffee, the attendees discussed initiatives to strengthen educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries.
Ambassador Bitelli then met with students enrolled in the International Analysis course for undergraduate students in Political Science and International Relations, accompanied by students from other majors. In this context, academic coordinator and professor Said Chaya explained the significance of this activity:
“As part of a special International Analysis class, the Brazilian ambassador to Buenos Aires, Mr. Julio Bitelli, visited the Pilar campus of the Universidad Australwhere he met with a group of students of Political Science, International Relations, and Law in a meeting that sought to promote dialogue and mutual learning. During the talk, the official shared his perspective on bilateral relations between Brazil and Argentina, highlighting topics such as regional integration, trade, and cooperation in strategic areas. The students had the opportunity to ask questions about current diplomatic challenges, as well as Brazil's role on the global stage. The meeting was enriching, providing a practical view of diplomacy and a direct connection with those who represent Brazil abroad.
To conclude the visit, a lunch was organized at the IAE Business School, where the following participated: Dr. Lourdes Perea M., Vice-Rector of Academic Affairs; Eng. Pablo De Lazzari, Vice-Rector of Economic Affairs; Eng. Daniel Pelegrina, Director of Institutional Public Relations; Lic. Inés Laferrère, Manager of Institutional Relations; Lic. Ángeles Rodríguez, Director of the Political Science and International Relations programs; Professor Said Chaya; Mag. Celina Cantú, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law; and the Director of the Energy Institute, Roberto Carnicer.

During the meeting, topics of interest to both nations were discussed, such as opportunities in the energy sector (particularly gas), the interest of the Brazilian private sector in investing in Argentina, the internationalization of Argentine companies, and cultural and educational exchanges between students from both countries. The possibility of signing an academic cooperation agreement to facilitate joint activities between the institutions was also explored.
This meeting strengthens the ties between Brazil and Argentina and reaffirms the commitment of Universidad Austral to promote international cooperation and interdisciplinary dialogue.
