During the week of June 24-28, 2024, the Ordinary Assemblies were held REDIFAM (Network of Latin American University Institutes of Family) and the REDIUF (International Network of University Institutes of Family) which brings together directors and members of the more than 40 Institutes distributed across 4 continents. These assemblies are a space for work and reflection that allows consideration of the difficulties and challenges facing the contemporary family and, within that framework, outlines the action of each of the training and research centers, as well as these inter-institutional networks.
The activities began with the International Academic Congress: Relational health in family relationshipswhich took place at the headquarters of Anáhuac University Mexico. Dr. Gabriella GambinoThe undersecretary of the Vatican's Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, at the opening of this congress, highlighted the importance of fostering values linked to the human family, and promoting inter-institutional networks, to restore the importance of the family in all areas.
For its part, Lorena Bolzon, dean of the Institute of Sciences for the Family, represented our University at the Congress with the presentation “The family perspective in public policies: experiences and learnings”.
On Thursday, June 27, REDIFAM It renewed the authorities of its Board of Directors, which for the next two years was formed as follows:
President: Dr. Lorena C. Bolzon, Dean of the Institute of Family Sciences of the Universidad AustralArgentina; Vice President: Mag. José Carlos Ortiz Muggenburg, Director of the Center for Family and Society Studies at the Popular Autonomous University of the State of Puebla (UPAEP), Mexico; Secretary: Mag. Maite Cereceda, Director of the Institute for Family Studies at the University of San Sebastián, Chile, and in the Treasury: Dr. Jimena Valenzuela del Valle, Director of the Institute of Family Sciences at the University of the Andes, Chile.
Lorena BolzonA wife and mother of five, she holds a Doctorate in Legal Sciences (UCA), a Master's degree and is an expert in e-learning (University of Seville); she is a Family Counselor (Austral University) and a Lawyer (UCA). She has been Dean of the Institute of Family Sciences since 2018 and Director of the Center for the Study of Interpersonal Relationships since 2019. She is a researcher in the areas of bioethics, motherhood, and childhood. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses at the ICF and the Faculty of Law of the Universidad AustralShe is a visiting professor at various universities in the country and abroad.
