In the context of International Recycling Day, the Universidad Austral This date was commemorated with the closing of the Electronic Waste Collection Campaign at the Pilar Campus.

The 5th Electronic Waste Collection Campaignan initiative aimed at environmental awareness of the students , the part of his training inside of the SCHEDULE de College life.

UNESCO declared May 17 as International Recycling Day, an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the strategy of 3R: Reduce, Reusing y Recycling, fundamental for the care of the planet 🌍

Recycling helps preserve natural resources, reduce pollution, decrease energy, water, and oil consumption, and minimize CO₂ emissions. It also contributes to job creation and climate change mitigation.

Separating and recycling materials such as cans, plastic bottles, glass, paper, and cardboard helps prevent tons of waste and promotes healthier and more sustainable communities.

In this context, the 5th edition of the Electronic Waste Workshop, coordinated by Engineer Katia Cammisa, a graduate of the Universidad Austral.

This edition involved 37 students from different majors at the Pilar campus, and the following achievements stood out:

✅ Collection of approximately 200 kg of electronic waste.

✅ Active participation of students throughout the entire process.

✅ Visit and knowledge of different recycling centers.

✅ Spaces for reflection based on diverse realities and contexts.

The experience not only strengthened learning, but also promoted greater environmental and social awareness by having the task of getting to know the social organizations in the territory to deliver the donations divided into 6 groups 🌎♻️

🌱 Investing in a circular economy means giving new life to waste through repair, reuse, and recycling, transforming it into valuable resources. It also means promoting employment for people in vulnerable social situations.
