Innovation cycle in education
The Directorate of Educational Innovation and the School of Education of the Universidad Austral organize the Lecture Series on Innovation in Higher Education open to the community.
The Cycle aims to reflect on the transformations taking place in education, identify trends operating in the current context, and promote thinking about the challenges that educational institutions will face in the coming years.

National and international projects:
The Diploma in Artificial Intelligence for Teaching and Educational Innovation is a strategic alliance between the School of Education of the Universidad Austral and the Government of the Province of San Luis, aimed at strengthening teacher training in the pedagogical use of AI. Within the framework of the provincial training policy, the program—free for teachers—seeks to develop technological and pedagogical skills aligned with the challenges of contemporary education. The program is structured around four training challenges that range from the fundamentals of AI to the development of a project applied to the school context.
The School of Education of the Universidad Austral, Along the IAE Business School, conducted the seminar “Educational Leadership for Change”, aimed at management teams of the Secondary School Learning Plan, Ministry of Education of Government of the City of Buenos AiresOver four days, 270 school leaders strengthened their skills in leadership, communication, and design thinking to drive school transformation processes. The event featured presentations by leading figures such as Eduardo Oderigo, Sergio Vigil and Dr. Justin Reich of the MITwho contributed an inspiring and innovative perspective on leadership and educational improvement.
Joint work between the School of Education and the DGE Mendoza to improve mathematics teaching
The School of Education of the Universidad Austral It is currently conducting a project to evaluate mathematics teaching platforms, in conjunction with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Childhood, and the General Directorate of Schools of the Province of Mendoza. During the first week of October 2025, visits were made to schools in Godoy Cruz, Las Heras, San Martín, and the provincial capital to conduct focus groups with teachers and students as part of this project.
UPM Foundation
The School of Education is working with the UPM Foundation of Uruguay on a project aimed at training teachers and managers in rural areas of the neighboring country, with the goal of supporting community development and contributing to its long-term strengthening.
University Diploma in School Educational Innovation
The University Diploma in Educational Innovation is a project designed and coordinated by the School of Education in partnership with Tenaris, the Roberto Rocca Technical School of Campana (ETRR), the Varkey Foundation, and the Dante Alighieri School. The Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI) has also joined the program, offering accredited modules on mathematics didactics, language arts, and school leadership. The first cohort (2024-2025) of teachers, school administrators, and supervisors from public and private primary and secondary schools in the towns of Campana and Zárate, Buenos Aires Province, is currently in training.
Delterra Foundation
“Training program for stakeholders in the recycling system of the City of Buenos Aires”
From the School of Education we support the NGO Delterra and the Undersecretariat of Hygiene of the Government of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires in the development of a training program aimed at the actors of the recycling system of the City of Buenos Aires.
ACT4SDGs Project
With the aim of supporting the Sustainable Development agenda proposed by the United Nations (UN) through concrete actions that improve the quality of life worldwide, addressing social, economic and environmental challenges, the School of Education of the Universidad Austral It joins the ACT4SDGs project supported by ERASMUS.
Project Globe
The Global Learning and Observations to Benefit the Environment (GLOBE) program is an international science and environmental education program. The School of Education of the Universidad Austral It was the headquarters of the Regional Coordination for Latin America and the Caribbean between 2015 and 2024.
Pilares Association
The School of Education of the Universidad Austral Together with the Pilares Association, they developed an alliance with the aim of improving the educational quality of boys and girls through the "PILLARS OF LEARNING" project.
This alliance seeks to strengthen the educational paths of more than 600 children who are experiencing socio-educational vulnerability.
Linkyou Project
Between 2017 and 2020, the School of Education led the LinkYou International Project, whose purpose is to improve the employability of young graduates in Latin America through a network of organizations, academics, and students.
Networked Directors
This initiative consisted of holding annual meetings with school leaders to develop a dialogue focused on different current problems in education that challenge the leadership teams of educational institutions.

Conferences, workshops, webinars
The Pilar Educational Hub held another meeting of its members
The event included the participation of César Caldarola, M.Sc., who attended on behalf of the School of Education of the Universidad Austral to provide training on educational branding, in which she addressed strategic keys to attract and retain enrollment in a context of low birth rate and high competition.
It was an opportunity for reflection on institutional positioning and sustainability.
Authorities from various institutions of the Polo participated in a space for exchange and collective construction.
A new edition of the Personal Development and Comprehensive Recycling Management Program was carried out in conjunction with Delterra.
The School of Education, in conjunction with the Delterra Organization, conducted another edition of the Personal Development and Comprehensive Recycling Management Program for a recycling cooperative in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. This initiative is geared towards the professional development of key stakeholders in environmental stewardship.

The Roberto Rocca Technical School in Campana hosted a day dedicated to exploring the impact of artificial intelligence on teaching, within the framework of the University Diploma in School Educational Innovation, promoted by the School of Education of the Universidad AustralWith broad participation from teachers and educational leaders from Campana and Zárate, the day included a workshop led by Dr. Carina Lion on the use of AI in education and concluded with a presentation by Romina Campopiano, MA, on how to bring innovation into the classroom. The event was presented by Karina Brahim, MA, Director of Extension and Transfer at EEDU. The diploma program, directed by Mariana Albarracín and coordinated by Vanesa Barreiro, BA, is supported by Tenaris, in partnership with ETRR, CIEDA, and the Varkey Foundation. This diploma program aims to transform teaching practices through a collaborative and innovative approach.

With outstanding participation, the Roberto Rocca Technical School (ETRR) in Campana hosted another meeting of the University Diploma in Educational Innovation in Schools. The day began with welcoming remarks from Mariana Albarracín, director of the ETRR and the diploma program, who opened the meeting, followed by a reflection led by Dr. Graciela Cappelletti, focused on the current challenges of teaching practice.
The 21st Education Congress of the Pilar Educational Hub
The School of Education actively participated in the organization of the XXI Education Congress of the Pilar Educational Hub (PEP), which was attended by more than 500 representatives of educational institutions.
On Thursday, February 13th, the Pre-Conference organized by EEDU took place at the IAE Business School, with the participation of Mariana Albarracín, director of the Roberto Rocca Technical School (Campana) and of the Diploma in School Educational Innovation of the EEDU, who addressed the “Keys to a school committed to the challenges of the 21st century”.
Training: Keys to improving reading comprehension
The School of Education, in conjunction with the Pilar Educational Hub, held the training session “Keys to Improving Reading Comprehension,” led by Montserrat García Ortiz, creator of the Glifing method. During the session, participants explored how different learning styles influence cognitive development and analyzed strategies for identifying and addressing specific reading comprehension difficulties. The Glifing program was also presented as an innovative tool for enhancing reading skills, especially in children with dyslexia.

The School of Education, in partnership with Tenaris, the Roberto Rocca Technical School (ETRR), the Varkey Foundation, and the Dante Alighieri Center for Educational Innovation (CIEDA), launched the Diploma Program in School Educational Innovation, with the participation of the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI). The program aims to strengthen teaching practices through reflection, pedagogical analysis, and the incorporation of new strategies that enrich daily educational work. It is designed for teachers, administrators, and supervisors at the preschool, primary, and secondary levels—both public and private—in the towns of Campana and Zárate, Buenos Aires.

With certification from the School of Education, the transformative workshop "Educational Horizons: Reflections and Practices Today," organized by the GLIA Foundation and Austin Eco Bilingual School, took place in Campana. Featuring Tina Blythe, Director of Project Zero at Harvard Graduate School of Education, as a keynote speaker, the event brought together more than 400 educators and professionals interested in exploring new teaching methods in an increasingly dynamic and fast-paced world.
“International Congress for the Development of Virtues: Transforming Learning through Character Education”
The Varkey Foundation and the School of Education of the Universidad Austral In partnership with the John Templeton Foundation, they brought together international experts and leading educators from Latin America to discuss innovative practices, research on character development in schools, and scalable scenarios at the regional and global levels. The findings from 18 months of work, involving 20 teachers from 8 countries in the region, were presented at the Congress.

The School of Education of the Universidad Austral She had an active role in the organization and presentations during the two days of the XX Education Congress 2024: “Educational Well-being in the Age of AI” on Thursday, February 15 and Friday, February 16, with virtual and in-person activities in the auditorium of the University of Salvador, in the IAE Universidad Austral and at St. Matthew's College North.

On December 4th, it took place in the Universidad Austral the first working day of the Inter-University Network for Quality Assurance (RIAC)A meeting that fostered debate in a diverse and changing higher education landscape, where workers, technicians and management professionals, teachers and researchers from university institutions across the country came together to ensure continuous improvement even in challenging times in Argentina.
