In August, the National Meeting of Directors of Industrial Engineering Careers took place, which is held every year within the framework of the CAEII of AArEII – Argentine Association of Students of Industrial Engineering and related careers.
This year's edition took place in San Juan and featured the participation of Juan Cruz FernandezDirector of Industrial Engineering, and Alejandro Emilio Sureda, Director of the Department of Industries of the Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Austral.
The meeting brought together universities, students and industry leaders with the aim of sharing experiences, exchanging perspectives and reflecting on the current challenges of vocational training.
Topics discussed included those relevant to education and professional practice today: the link between university and industry, professional practices, new work scenarios, and the impact of Artificial Intelligence on the training of future engineers.
Curiosity to ask new questions, to learn to solve problems, to incorporate new tools without losing critical thinking and, above all, to face changes with an open mind and adaptability.
The exchange allowed participants to share the challenges that educational institutions face today and to think about new ways to support students in their transition to the professional world.
From Faculty of Engineering of the Universidad Austral We work every day to rethink how we support our students on that journey.
Because training engineers involves more than just transmitting technical knowledge. It also means developing the skills needed to understand problems, ask questions, make decisions, and transform reality.
