La Universidad Austral He participated in the National Meeting of MetaRed Argentina 2026, held at the National University of San Martín (UNSAM), an initiative that simultaneously brought together the MetaRed TIC, MetaRed X and MetaRed S networks.
The meeting brought together authorities and leading figures from areas related to digital transformation, entrepreneurship, sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical university governance. During the sessions, participants shared progress, best practices, and common challenges, as well as learning about cooperation opportunities fostered by the MetaRed networks in Latin America.
The Rector of the Universidad Austral and president of MetaRed X Argentina, Mr. Julián Rodríguez, highlighted:
“The progress we have made this year leading MetaRed X Argentina, the network dedicated to developing university entrepreneurship, is the result of the commitment and teamwork of a great team. I am convinced that promoting entrepreneurship in universities is a concrete way to contribute to building a culture based on civic responsibility and individual and social initiative, capable of generating innovative responses to challenges as relevant as environmental protection, reducing social inequalities, and strengthening institutional quality.”
MetaRed TIC Argentina brings together those responsible for Information Technologies and other areas related to the digital transformation of higher education institutions in the country.
For its part, MetaRed X Argentina brings together those responsible for entrepreneurship offices, while MetaRed S is geared towards the areas of sustainability, social responsibility and ethical governance of higher education institutions.
METARED S SEAL FOR AUSTRAL UNIVERSITY
La Universidad Austral It received international recognition and the MetaRed S seal for the progress of its Sustainability Plan. In this context, Dr. Verónica Torres Cerino, Sustainability Manager of the Universidad Austral, he noted:
“This recognition, obtained jointly with two other Argentinian universities to participate in a university exchange program with the University of Murcia, is an incentive to continue strengthening our commitment to sustainability. Furthermore, obtaining the MetaRed S seal highlights the progress and results of the University's Sustainability Plan,” he stated. Finally, parallel working groups, networking spaces and a joint presentation were held, which allowed for the synthesis of the main challenges and joint proposals for the coming year.
