The Agribusiness and Food Center of the Universidad Austral, together with the directors of the Economics and Communication and Marketing Departments, participated once again in the IFAMA 2026 World Conference (International Food and Agribusiness Management Association), held from June 15 to 19 in Cork, Ireland.
Recognized as one of the leading international forums for meetings between academia, businesses, governments and organizations linked to the agri-food system, IFAMA brings together leading figures from around the world each year to discuss the strategic challenges facing food production and agribusiness development..
The 2026 edition, organized by University College Cork and Cork University Business School under the motto “Rooted in Resilience: Revitalizing Agri-Food Systems for an Uncertain Tomorrow”It brought together more than 400 participants from over 40 countries, establishing itself as a global platform for the exchange of knowledge, research and management experiences.
This new participation by the University included the presentation of six research papers and a case study linked to some of the main challenges currently facing the agri-food sector.These include the adoption of bio-inputs, digital transformation in agriculture, innovation in value chains, intellectual property applied to genetically edited crops, and the transition to more sustainable production models.

In addition to sharing the research developed at the University, participation in IFAMA allowed for the exchange of experiences with international leaders from academia, industry and the public sector, strengthening international ties and the University's positioning in spaces where the transformations that impact the future of agribusiness are debated.
Participation in IFAMA 2026 reaffirms the commitment of Universidad Austral with the generation of relevant knowledge for the development of the agri-food sector and with the promotion of research that contributes to addressing the productive, technological and sustainability challenges that the activity faces globally.
