Last Wednesday, May 27th, the Official Gala of the MetaRed S Recognition Seals, an international distinction intended to highlight and reward the commitment of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to sustainability and ESG criteria (environmental, social and governance).
In this context, the Universidad Austral It received the MetaRed S 2026 Transformation Seal – Recognition Diploma, This achievement reflects their firm commitment to sustainability and social responsibility..
About, Verónica Torres Cerino, Sustainability Manager of the Universidad Austral, he noted:
“It’s really important to be able to demonstrate that we’re on the right track. Obtaining a certification, beyond being a very valuable experience, means having third-party validation that confirms we’re on the right path. This allows us to solidify our position and provides a stepping stone from which to project new achievements in the same area.”

MetaRed S Recognition Seals
The MetaRed S Recognition Seals are an international distinction designed to highlight and reward the commitment of Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to sustainability and ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria.
This recognition aims to assess, standardize, and certify the level of maturity in sustainable management at universities. The process allows institutions to measure their impact, identify areas for improvement, and share best practices globally.
The initiative is part of the International Analysis Project on the Implementation of Sustainability Policies in Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), a strategic study that seeks to analyze the actual progress of higher education in this area. The technical development, indicator design, and evaluation of applications are the responsibility of the MetaRed S.A. International Working Group (GTI) on Indicators.
