25 years at FC

The opening ceremony of the Academic Year had an added sparkle this year. It not only spoke of new beginnings and opportunities, but also of the contributions of those who have been building the University for 25 years. In our case, the FC professors María José Müller y Teresa Bosch They received this recognition from the rector, Julián Rodríguez Priore.

Two medals that represent not only the vocation, but also the commitment and constant support of students and colleagues, being dynamic in our academic community.

Majo Müller. It was your turn to open your memory, going back to your time as a student at the Faculty. "I remember in detail my first visit, somewhat disconcerting at first, to a former notebook factory that was beginning to become the Faculty of Communication of the Universidad Austral"It was 92 and I had almost two years left to finish high school. From the moment I walked in and met those pioneers who were laying the foundations of our FC, I knew for sure that this was my place," says Majo about the beginning of this adventure.

In her own words, FC: “Austral University is my home and my family. It’s the place I chose to study, but also the one I continue to choose to learn, grow, and do what I love. FC is academic excellence, but above all, it’s human warmth. It’s hallways filled with students and professors who greet each other with camaraderie, who listen to one another, share interests and sometimes disagreements, but always with respect. FC is a refuge for my soul, which discovered long ago that there is a place in the world where work is not routine but change, adventure, and challenges. Here, I feel free to create, to teach or develop an NGO, to organize an event with graduates, to conduct research, or to design Campus Day.”

I've reached 25 years at the FC without feeling the weariness of the years. I arrive with gratitude and with the same enthusiasm as that first teenage visit to Garay 125, in San Telmo. I am the same and I am different, enriched by the encounter with each colleague and each student, which today translates into hundreds of graduates whom I enjoy watching grow as professionals and as people.

Now Tere Bosch. Spotlights. Mic open. We're listening. "When I was a girl, the school gave out an award for effort. It wasn't exactly the most coveted prize: it didn't have the shine of top grades, the epic nature of sports, or the applause of artistic achievements. It was, rather, a silent recognition. However, over the years I understood that there was something valuable there: the perseverance of doing the same thing every day, over and over again, with dedication, enthusiasm, and consistency, even when the results aren't always immediately apparent."

And he concluded: “This medal for 25 years at the Austral makes me think, with a touch of humor, that it could also be called an ‘award for endurance.’ For mutual endurance, too. For staying the course, even when there were setbacks, when things didn’t go as planned, or when the results fell short of expectations. Looking at it closely, 25 years aren’t built on grand feats every day. They’re built, rather, on a patient accumulation of work, relationships, learning, mistakes, restarts, and shared efforts. And perhaps that’s where its true value lies. That’s why I’m so grateful for this medal, from the bottom of my heart. Because more than just counting time, it symbolizes a journey and the people who accompany you along it every day.”

Thank you for your tireless work during these (initial) 25 years at FC. We won't stop until we're 50! 🚀
