Universidad Austral offers a range of short programs:

Doing Business in Latin America and Latin American Economy- Rosario

The School of Management Sciences in Rosario offers international and local students a 4-week program featuring: Doing Business in Latin America and Latin American Economy. Both courses are conducted in English allowing the student to earn 6 credits or 12 ECTS total. In addition, Spanish lessons allow the participants to acquire some basic language skills to help them interact with the locals.

The program also comprises visits to companies. A seminar on agribusiness, led by the Centre for Agribusiness Studies at Universidad Austral, gives the program its final touch. Rosario provides a unique opportunity to learn about industries and businesses in Argentina’s leading agricultural area.

Program Overview

This program explores the most relevant aspects of the Argentina’s health-care system, the reforms it has suffered and the main health issues in Argentina and in South America.  The program aims at enabling the students to understand the biological, psychological, social, environmental, political and economic variables that shape our health system. There is a special focus on nursing and its current state of affairs in the country and the region.

The program addresses the problem of equality in the health-care system, access to medical care, and the aspects involved in promoting improvements in the health-care system. There will be a reference to the role of local and international organizations and their contributions to global health, as well as the part played by nurses and other professionals.

  • Human resources within the field of nursing in Argentina and the region: evolution and perspectives
  • Relevant health indicators and their connection to public health policies. Understanding sanitary indicators and their relevance. Critique.
  • Issues in maternal and child health in relation to the Millennium Development Goals.
  • Argentina’s program for maternal and child health (Programa Materno Infantil de la Nación). Ministry of Health (Ministerio de Salud de la Nación). Course of action to reduce mortality among women and children.
  • The role of the State and of the NGO’s in relation to the main topics and  priorities in the health system.
  • Prevailing child-health-related issues.  Programs to combat diarrhea, parasitosis, respiratory diseases, etc.; immunization programs, etc.
  • Nurses and their work in humanitarian organizations. Health and sanitary issues and assistance to people exposed to situation of vulnerability (epidemics, natural disasters).
  • Clinical research in Argentina. Its development in the field of maternal and child care. Research and vulnerable groups. Ethical matters.

Doing Business in Latin America- Pilar

The Doing Business in Latin America, is a 32 hour course, with classes led by IAE Business School faculty, keynote speakers, company visits and local cultural activities.

This intensive program will offer students a profound insight into Latin America, showcasing its dynamics, opportunities and challenges, with case method-based lectures, company visits and conferences.

Participants will delve into Latin America’s business setting and reality, building a strong elite corporate network of peers from other business schools around the world.

This Program will enable students to:

  • Understand the drivers of economic growth in Latin America and identify future trends.
  • Learn from business leaders facing an extremely unstable environment and decades of volatility.
