It is already for some time that the question “what is man?” has ceased to be just an existential interrogation or a philosophical concern and has become the object of scientific enquiry as well, even of the so-called natural sciences.

How do all these perspectives relate to each other? Are they contradictory? Should some of them be replaced by others? Do they go parallel ways? Is complementarity technically consistent and empirically sound?
